Job Title: Food Service WorkerSalary Range: $15.58 - $18.94
Reports to: Nutrition Services SupervisorEssential Job Functions
  • Ability to operate institutional food service equipment.
  • Ability to use a computer for cashiering and other functions.
  • Quality and customer service focused.
  • Work well with others.
  • Ability to understand written and oral instructions.
  • Works cooperatively with other members of both classified and licensed staff.
  • Uses tools and equipment properly and safely.
  • Comprehends and follows oral and written instruction, and is punctual.
  • Performs moderately heavy tasks.
  • Performs all job related tasks with minimum of supervision.
  • Presents a positive attitude by appearance, personal neatness and personal habits.
  • Organizes, cleans and maintains work area.
  • Prepares and serves a variety of foods; for example: salads, sandwiches, vegetables.
  • May bake and prepare main dishes as needed.
  • Washes dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
  • Maintains equipment, serving areas, display counters, and eating areas in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
  • May help collect lunch money and operate a computerized meal accounting system.
  • May help inventory food and supplies.
  • Performs related duties as required.
  • Responsible for being familiar with the school/district policies and procedures which govern the work.
  • Prompt and regular attendance is required.
Other Job Functions
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
  • Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
  • Participates in various meetings and professional development activities for the purpose of sharing information and/or improving one's skills/knowledge.
Essential Job Requirements - Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years experience in food service preferred.
  • School food service experience.
  • Food handlers card.
  • Clear background check.
  • Serve Safe certification desired.
  • Vending experience preferred.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and harmoniously as a team member.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and work without close supervision.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with District personnel and the public.
  • Maintains confidential information and the privacy of District staff, students, and families.
  • Carries out work responsibilities effectively under pressure of deadlines, interruptions, and new or emergency situations.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population.
  • Ability to respect confidential information.
  • Computer skills to include use of word processing programs, database programs and the Google Suite of products.
