This position is responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming & outgoing shipments, and for preparing packing slips and any required paperwork for shipment. Duties include addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, verifying, and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products. The successful candidate will perform day-to-day administrative tasks, such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork. Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES

  • Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment, such as verifying information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Periodically prepares reports for management.
  • Attach shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Overall responsibility for appropriate movement of goods throughout the facility while maintaining a neat and well-organized work area.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • One (1) or more years’ experience highly desired.
  • Knowledge and experience using Lean Manufacturing principles preferred.
  • Ability to perform, but not limited to, the following tasks be familiar with and able to interpret packing slips; with accuracy, enter information into the computer; to acknowledge receipt of the goods into the purchase order and processing database.
  • Must be able to fill out bills of lading and be familiar with various forms that are used and required by the freight carriers.
  • Must be familiar with proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Standing for extended periods of time, walking throughout the facility, ability to lift 50lbs as required.

Work Environment

  • Exposed to elements, such as cold, heat, noise, dust, odors, fumes, etc.
  • Work time is spent on the manufacturing floor and in a managerial office.
