The Job
We are seeking an entry to mid-level building science analyst to provide added expertise to promote energy & carbon efficiency in buildings as part of our effort to identify, evaluate, select, and integrate viable energy and environmental (sustainable) design strategies during the architectural design process. This position requires regular interaction with architects, developers, and in-house MEP engineers. Responsibilities include building energy performance analyses and technical evaluation of architectural and energy related systems.
Energy analyst with 0 to 5 years’ experience with comprehensive analyses of buildings and development of recommended energy efficiency measures. Data collection, analysis, recommendations, and technical assistance on a wide range of projects. Design reviews of predominantly new construction projects; develop and maintain energy models; develop reports & graphical presentations for easy visualization of energy efficiency measures.
Your Qualifications
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or other building-related technical field required. Advanced degree in building science preferred.
· Knowledgeable about building energy theory, principles, and practice, and qualitative and quantitative research methods and analyses.
· Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, meet deadlines, work both independently and collaboratively, and communicate effectively.
· Demonstrated high level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Excellent writing and speaking skills. Must be comfortable interacting with high-level decision makers.
· Proficiency in database, spreadsheet, and energy simulation software applications.
· Working knowledge of construction practices and terminology.
· Ability to work with 3D CAD software, AutoCAD, Revit and SketchUp.
Additional desired skills
· Proficient at energy modeling using IES-VE (favored) and/or other energy related software like EnergyPlus, DOE-2, eQuest, etc.
· Knowledge of ASHRAE 90.1, IECC, CA Title 24 energy codes/standards.
· Knowledge of sustainable building practices, LEED, Energy Star, etc.
· Understanding of project documentation of energy-related systems / sustainable design/LEED, including energy modeling inputs and outputs, LEED templates, calculations, specifications, and architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings.

This position can be offered in any of the locations of ME Engineers Offices within the USA. Our preferred locations are:
Fully remote positions will be considered on a case by case basis, and are dependent on experience.
Starting at $70K Benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision & 401K matching. Salary will vary based on Experience and Location.
