Mead & Hunt is Hiring a Senior Project CAD Designer Near Denver, CO

Overview:

Mead & Hunt is a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm. Our Colorado / Rocky Mountain Transportation group is hiring a Senior Project CAD Designer. As a Senior Project CAD Designer, you will be responsible for the plans, designs, and the overseeing of engineering projects. This role will located in our Denver, CO office, with potential partial week hybrid work opportunities.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include: serving as the main point of contact for all CAD related tasks on assigned projects; mentoring and serving as a resource and technical leader for less experienced technical staff; making recommendations to management regarding education/training needs; coordinating with project managers/practice leaders to perform quality control reviews on CAD elements of projects at appropriate milestones; overseeing or performing analysis, preparation and/or modification of reports, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, models, and/or designs for projects; using computer assisted engineering and design software(s) and equipment to coordinate and/or draft engineering and design documents; coordinating pricing, estimating, and scoping for proposed projects; developing probable construction cost estimates for projects; identifying, enforcing, and assisting on creating relevant standards on projects; assisting with identification and testing of new tools and processes to increase efficiency and quality; and, maintaining technical competence on software features, company standards, and best practices.

Occasional travel to project sites will be required.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have an associate degree in engineering or related field from an accredited institution plus at least ten years of relevant experience desirable; if no degree, must have at least twelve years of relevant experience.

An ideal candidate will have experience with the following:

  • Proficient in both Civil 3D and ORD.
  • Autodesk Civil 3D Certification is preferred.
  • AutoTurn and Infraworks
  • Roadways, highways, trails, intersections, roundabouts, rail, airports, and other aspects of heavy civil construction.

Salary Range: $85,000 to $110,000 Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
