PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST (12-18 month temporary project)
The Company:
Our client is a maritime organization that has been proudly servicing the Houston area for over 20 years. They are seeking a PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST to join their team in EAST HOUSTON (77029).
This PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST opportunity is a 12-18 month temporary project role with weekly pay via Meador Staffing Services.
Compensation for this role is $30-38/hr, depending on experience. Work hours are Monday-Thursday.
*PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE in a PROCUREMENT ENVIRONMENT is REQUIRED*
The Expectations for the PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST:
- Process informal and formal purchase orders, including reviewing and processing requisitions, executing purchase orders, sending approval orders and supporting documents to suppliers and stakeholders and maintaining files
- Identify and define sourcing options based on the application of the strategic sourcing process
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activity and perform data extraction from multiple systems to prepare quarterly and yearly reports to analyze procurement trends and strategies
- Maintain vendor records
- Oversee the approval process and executing and maintaining purchase orders (PO) for all past, current, and future procurements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant procurement and organizational policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
- Utilize MS Excel – knowledge with Pivot tables and v-lookup
- Other duties as assigned.
The Experience and Education:
2 years of Procurement experience; REQUIRED
MS Excel, Advanced Knowledge, REQUIRED!
JD Edwards or ERP System experience; REQUIRED
