Job Overview:

Our team at Meadowbrook focuses on creating opportunities for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We provide our persons served with the utmost care and compassion via our experienced staff- Could you be our next team member?

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Companion to provide companionship and support to out clients in their homes. As a Home Care Companion, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by providing emotional support, engaging in meaningful conversations, and assisting with daily activities.

Duties:

- Engage in friendly and supportive conversations with residents

- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents

- Assist residents with daily activities such as grooming, dressing, and eating, ect.

- Accompany residents on walks or outings

- Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as tidying up resident's area

- Follow established care plans and ensure resident safety and well-being

- Observe and report any changes in resident's condition to the nursing staff

- Assist with medication administration under the supervision of licensed personnel

- Provide assistance with mobility, including transferring and lifting residents when necessary

-Write and keep detailed notes of how each shift was spent

Requirements:

- Previous experience in direct support or caregiving roles NOT REQUIRED - We will train you 100%

-High School Diploma/G.E.D.

-Drivers license

-Vehicle with car incurance

Skills:

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- Compassionate and patient demeanor

- Ability to build rapport with residents and their families

- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

-Ability to lift 50lbs or more
