MeasuringU is Hiring an UX Researcher - Entry Level or Experienced Near Denver, CO

UX Researcher (entry level or experienced)

Who we are:

MeasuringU is a user experience research firm focused on quantifying the user experience through the statistical analysis of human behavior. We operate a full service UX research lab in Denver, Colorado complete with observation rooms, a suite of remote-moderated software platforms, and our own proprietary UX focused survey platform (MUiQ).

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for an in-person UX Researcher to join our team at our office in Denver, Colorado. This position is not eligible for remote work as a lot of our user testing occurs on-premises in Denver.

The UX researcher will help conduct moderated and unmoderated usability tests and assist with everything from creating test-plans, designing studies, moderating user interviews, analyzing data, and reporting results. You will work side-by-side with experienced researchers in a fast-paced client environment, where communication, teamwork, and prioritization are key skills.

Activities and Responsibilities

  • Usability Testing: Help conduct in-person and remote evaluations of users attempting tasks on websites, software, or hardware in our lab in Denver. This requires a heavy emphasis on thorough communication with colleagues, clients, and participants; interpersonal skills; detailed note taking; and troubleshooting technology.
  • Analyze Survey and Usability Data: We're looking for someone who loves working with and making sense of data. We’re known for generating industry leading reports, analysis, and insights. You don’t have to be a math guru. You do have to be willing to learn some core statistics, Excel functions, and methods. An analytical or quantitative background is a plus.
  • Help Conduct Surveys: We continually conduct studies for clients and our own research every week. We’re looking for someone who can program surveys (or learn quickly how to), and who can troubleshoot software.
  • Client Interaction: As a client agency, we work closely with clients to accomplish their project goals. This requires clear communication and consistent updates to clients, as well as making sure the project stays in scope and on track to achieve their research goals. We often present research findings to stake holders, so attention to detail and confidence presenting results are important.

Who Should Apply

We are interested in a wide variety of candidates from those who have only a little professional experience, to those with several years in the industry.

You’d be a good fit if you:

  • Are naturally curious and ask lots of questions
  • Have excellent note taking skills and the ability to process and synthesize information quickly
  • Are highly self-motivated and able to work with little supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience conducting research interviews
  • Strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint
  • General stats knowledge (don't need to be an expert)
  • Excellent writing skills, especially an ability to communicate complex concepts

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

  • Background in user experience, market research, psychology, statistics, or related fields
  • Ability to troubleshoot technology
  • Strong quantitative skills and an analytic/technical propensity
  • Strong qualitative skills including direct experience with moderating user tests, running focus groups, or conducting in-depth interviews focused on identifying the problems with technology or patterns of its use
  • Experience in an agency setting or other fast paced context that interacts directly with clients

Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience level/education
  • Retirement account with immediately vesting company contribution
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Flexible vacation policy
  • Paid holidays
  • Gym membership credit
  • Support and resources for learning job-related skills

This is a full-time NON-REMOTE position in Denver, Colorado.

If you're interested, please provide an updated resume. We also strongly recommend including a cover letter with what interests you about this position and why you are a good fit.
