Job Title: Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA)

Location: Maryland

Job Summary: As a Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) in Maryland, you will provide essential nursing care and support to elderly patients in various healthcare settings. Working under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) or licensed practical nurses (LPNs), you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for patients through compassionate care and assistance with daily activities. This position requires a deep commitment to patient well-being, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care:
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
  • Provide assistance with feeding and ensure patients receive adequate nutrition and hydration.
  • Monitor and record patient vital signs, behaviors, and overall condition.
  • Comfort and Support:
  • Offer emotional support and companionship to patients.
  • Respond promptly to patient needs and requests for assistance.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Document care provided and observations accurately in patient records.
  • Report changes in patient condition to the supervising nurse or healthcare team.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Collaborate with RNs, LPNs, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Compliance and Professionalism:
  • Adhere to ethical and professional standards of nursing practice.
  • Follow all state regulations and facility policies related to patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain certification and enhance skills.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a state-approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant training program.
  • Current certification as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) in Maryland.
  • CPR certification (BLS).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as needed.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $18.08 - $18.82 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
