Medasource is Hiring a Clinical Informatics Specialist Near Indiana, PA

Position: Clinical Informatics Specialist

Location: 100% onsite - Indianapolis, IN and surrounding areas (Travel & Lodging compensated for)

Duration: 6 month rolling contract

Start: Early August

Job Summary: The Cerner Clinical Informatics Specialist is responsible for the optimization and support of Cerner EHR systems to ensure effective clinical workflows and enhanced patient care. This role involves collaborating and coaching with healthcare professionals, IT staff, and other stakeholders to leverage clinical data and informatics solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Workflow Analysis: Analyze and map clinical workflows to ensure they are effectively supported by Cerner systems.
  • Implementation and Configuration: Assist in the deployment and configuration of Cerner EHR systems.
  • Customize Cerner solutions to meet the specific needs of clinical departments and workflows.
  • Identify opportunities for system optimization to improve clinical efficiency and patient outcomes.
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for end-users to resolve issues related to Cerner applications.
  • Training, Coaching, and Education: Develop and deliver training programs for clinical staff on the use of Cerner systems.
  • Create educational materials and user guides to support training efforts.
  • Data Management and Reporting: Assist in the management of clinical data within Cerner systems, ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Generate and analyze reports to support clinical decision-making and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Serve as a liaison between clinical staff, IT, and Cerner support teams to facilitate effective communication and project coordination.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and committees to represent clinical informatics interests.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that Cerner systems and related processes comply with healthcare regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Stay informed about changes in regulations and ensure systems are updated accordingly.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Informatics, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Advanced degrees (e.g., MSN, MHA) are preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with Cerner EHR systems in a clinical or informatics role.
  • Must have experience in secure message
  • Must have experience in virtual scribing
  • Robust experience in workflow assessments and support
  • Clinical experience (e.g., RN, allied health professional) is highly desirable.
  • Personality: Must have a strong desire to support clinicians and physicians in their workflow, and be able to work with multiple different individuals.
  • Customer service oriented
  • Skills: Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare operations.
  • Proficiency in Cerner EHR applications and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams.
  • Ability to develop and deliver training programs.
  • Certifications Relevant certifications such as Cerner Certified Professional, RN-BC in Informatics Nursing, or equivalent are advantageous.
