Prepare staff schedules for coverage of public service areas.Supervise volunteersAssist with library programs for all ages as needed.
Prepare appropriate library displays.Assist in the development and maintenance of the branch collection of materials.Assist library patrons with reference and readers’ advisory questions using both print and virtual materials.
Assist library patrons with electronic resources and internet use.Provide prompt and courteous customer service to patrons of diverse ages and backgrounds.
Prepare purchase order request for minor equipment and supplies.Prepare reportsOperate a variety of equipment such as computers, self-check machines, photocopiers, and cash registers.
Offer basic technology assistance to internal and external customers.Staff all service desks and cover other library locations as needed.
Education, Experience, LicensingMinimum Requirements : Education and Experience : Requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to an Associate’s Degree or specialized courses / training equivalent to satisfactory completion of two years of college and two years of customer service experience.
Driver’s License : Possession of a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record is preferred.Preferred Qualifications : Education : Prefer Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or universityLibrary Background : Prior library experience is also valued.
Language Fluency : Additional language skills are a plus! We value candidates who can relate positively to a diverse population, including children, teens, and speakers of languages other than English.
Communication Skills : Exceptional communication and collaborative abilities are essential.Customer Experience : Demonstrated ability to provide exemplary customer service is preferred.
Tech and Arts Skills : Experience instructing technology and / or arts and crafts is a bonus.Physical Requirements : Ability to bend, stretch, sit, and stand for extended periods.
Lift and carry objects up to 35 lbs.Flexibility : Be prepared for varying hours, including evenings, Saturdays, and some Sundays.
Temporary Transfers : The County may require temporary or long-term transfers to other library locations based on organizational needs.
