The Media Planner at Mediagistic plays a crucial role in crafting and executing strategic media plans that align with client objectives and budgets. This position requires a blend of market research, strategic thinking, and strong collaboration with internal teams and external media vendors. The Media Planner ensures optimal media placements, fosters strong vendor relationships, and continually monitors and refines campaigns to achieve outstanding results for clients.

Essential Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct market research to identify target audiences and optimize media placements. Develop campaigns based on client goals, target markets, objectives, budget parameters, media pricing, and seasonality to determine the optimal media mix. Cultivate a deep understanding of client business goals and marketing objectives, translating these into effective media strategies that drive results.
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure cohesive and effective recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Mediagistic’s clients’ businesses. Ensure all media requirements are executed accurately and promptly, aligning with our commitment to excellence.
  • Oversee the daily workflow of all client campaigns, ensuring seamless execution and optimal performance.
  • Negotiate with media vendors to secure the best rates and placements.
  • Maintain strong relationships within the media community to secure innovative and first-to-market opportunities for Mediagistic’s clients.
  • Assist in the development, writing, and presentation of campaign recommendations, providing clients with clear and compelling proposals.
  • Investigate creative and innovative approaches to strategically reach target consumers. Provide clients with regular, insightful recommendations.
  • Analyze competitive activity in the marketplace, translating findings into actionable insights to enhance client campaigns and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance, making data-driven adjustments to optimize results.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in media planning within an agency environment, demonstrating a strong understanding of industry dynamics.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of both offline and online media, including analytics, to create integrated and effective media strategies. Strong proficiency in digital media, including but not limited to Connected TV (OTT), Streaming Radio, Podcast, Digital out-of-home (DOOH).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for articulating strategies and presenting to clients.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, required for data analysis and effective presentations.
  • Desire and ability to produce strong, well-articulated rationales for media strategies and decisions.
  • Develop strong knowledge of the changing media landscape by networking, meeting with, and building relationships with new vendors/partners. Understand the benefits of working with different vendors and provide clear, strategic rationales for all vendor recommendations.
  • In-depth knowledge of media planning best practices, ensuring all campaigns are optimized for success.
  • Proven organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, crucial for managing multiple campaigns simultaneously.
  • Track record of regularly presenting to clients, showcasing confidence and expertise in client-facing scenarios.
  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns effectively in a fast-paced environment, maintaining high standards of quality and performance.

Supervision/Contacts:

  • Directly reports to the Director of Media Planning & Buying

Work Environment:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior office environment that requires normal safety precautions such as typical office or administrative work.

Physical Demands:

  • Job involves sitting most of the time: walking, lifting, bending, and standing may be minimally required to complete tasks.

Travel:

  • Travel will be required rarely, if at all. Total travel time will be less than 10% of the time.

Job Type: Full-time (Monday – Friday) in-office
