Senior Financial/Operations Analyst

PositionSenior Financial/Operations Analyst

Reports to: Director of Business Analytics and Special Projects

Location: Remote; Must reside in New York State 

Pay Grade: Salary,Exempt 

Salary Range: $90,000-$110,000

Medical Answering Services (MAS) Connects Medicaid enrollees to health care through non-emergency transportation because we believe healthier communities exist when its members have seamless access to healthcare. 

Job Summary:

As a Senior Financial/Operations Analyst, you have a tremendous opportunity to make an impact.

You will play a key role in collaborating with operational & financial leadership to bring insights that optimize financial performance, improve program management, and properly address opportunities & risks. Applying your strong analytic skills, intuition, and strategic thinking, you will deliver analyses, projections and actionable reporting that directs leadership to affect business outcomes and promote continuous organizational improvement. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop expert understanding of organizational operations, the New York State Medicaid transportation program, key business drivers, workflows, and performance indicators. 
  • Establish effective business relationships with department leadership, partnering with them to identify, evaluate and prioritize objectives and opportunities. 
  • Develop and deliver business analyses. Consult with and educate department leadership to explain business performance.
  • Provide continuous insight on financial outlook through the delivery of financial forecasts.
  • Advance integrations of financial and operational data to support company initiatives. 
  • Partner with other analytics personnel to develop & maintain data translation methods, reporting tools and analysis models to support the information infrastructure, Advanced Microsoft Excel, SQL and PowerBI.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Modeling & Forecasting: Knowledge of processes, tools, and techniques of financial modeling & forecasting; ability to interpret and evaluate alternative financial scenarios and results.
  • Business Process Improvement: Ability to discover, document, and analyze processes to establish effective informational analyses to support business process optimization. 
  • Communication: Effective communication and collaboration skills to maintain effective relationships with department leaders.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Knowledge of advanced reporting approaches using Microsoft Excel. Understanding of SQL, PowerBI.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree, in Finance, Accounting or Business Analytics 
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a financial or business analysis role

New York State Residency:

  • The selected candidate must reside in New York.

Remote Position:

  • This position is currently a remote position.

Travel Requirements:

  • May be required, at times, to attend meetings in-person with MAS colleagues primarily in the Syracuse, NY area.

  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
