Job Summary and Qualifications

* This is a Full Time Day shift position, Monday - Friday, 8am-5:00pm *

This position involves the coordination of clinical management of the stroke patient population across the entire continuum of care. The RN Stroke Coordinator serves as a leader for the stroke program performance and improvement initiative. Acts as a clinical resource and a role model for all areas caring for stroke patients. Provides and/or coordinates educational activities for both staff and patients. Acts as a community liaison on behalf of the program and hospital. Directly involved in the marketing/promotion of services provided.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing
• Bachelor's Degree required
• Advanced Practice Nursing/Masters prepared - preferred
• Current RN licensure by the State of TX
• NIHSS certification required
• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS required
• Specialty certification preferred
• Minimum of 3 years experience, within the last 5 years, within an acute hospital setting
• Neurological nursing experience preferred
• MedSurg, Neuro, ER, or critical care experience
