Position Description:
OptometristProfessional opportunity for a licensed optometrist to provide comprehensive optometric care for the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW).
Primary Functions
  • Provide comprehensive optometric services for patients of the Eye Institute and affiliated clinics.
  • Work with Eye Institute and affiliated clinic staff to promote high customer service and satisfaction to maximize productivity and to ensure access for patients seeking optometric services.
  • Participate in Eye Institute system-wide quality improvement projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
Working knowledge of medically oriented comprehensive optometric care including refraction, diagnosis and management of ocular disease, and contact lenses; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with patients, physicians and the general public.
Minimum Required Education:
  • Doctorate in Optometry
  • Post-graduate residency in appropriate optometric specialty
Preferred Education:
  • Doctorate in Optometry
  • Accredited post-graduate residency in appropriate optometric specialty
  • Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited school or college; eligibility for a Wisconsin Optometric license.
