- Assume patient care assignments for a group of patients based on patient care needs and your experience.
- Perform assessments and provide care for patients with various diagnoses.
- Insert and maintain peripheral lines and central lines for IV fluid administration.
- Provide emergency care as needed.
- Administer medications (oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intravenously) and blood products.
- Verify physician orders and ensure complete and accurate documentation of care.
- Conduct phlebotomy and bedside testing.
- Offer psychological support to patients as needed.
- Provide complex wound dressing care and maintenance.
- Work with COVID-19 positive patients and Patients Under Investigation (PUI) for COVID-19.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of current experience in an acute care, medical/surgical unit in an urban, academic Medical Center setting (excluding agency assignments). Recent work experience within the last 6 months in the above settings.
- Education: Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by ACEN, CCNE, or ANCC. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field preferred, but an associate degree or diploma with valid license and current experience is acceptable. Master's degree in Nursing or related field highly preferred.
- Licensing: Current unrestricted RN license from any state (United States) and a current CPR/BLS certificate accredited by the American Heart Association.
