Your Impact

• Holistic Care: Deliver comprehensive care to patients requiring surgical interventions, working closely with surgeons and anesthesia care providers.
• Team Collaboration: Function both dependently and independently with guidance from the Nurse Manager/designee.
• Critical Response: Be prepared to work after normal duty hours based on the severity of procedures, OR delays, or needs of the staff or AVAHCS.

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub and Circulate: All RNs must be able to scrub and/or circulate in the OR.
• Aseptic Techniques: Demonstrate proper aseptic techniques and maintain isolation precautions.
• Equipment Mastery: Operate essential OR equipment including electro-surgical units, fracture tables, suction devices, and nerve stimulators.
• Patient Safety: Position patients properly, conduct sponge counts, and assist anesthesiologists.
• Surgical Assistance: Perform routine scrub nurse duties across various surgeries including minor, rectal, abdominal, GU, eye, orthopedic, ENT, bronchoscopy, vascular, neurosurgery, and chest surgeries.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of current experience in an operating room setting, exclusive of agency assignments. Must have worked within the last 6 months in an OR setting.
• Education: Graduate of a school of professional nursing accredited by ACEN or CCNE. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred, but Associate's Degree or diploma considered with valid license and current experience.
• Licensing: Current unrestricted RN license from any state (United States) and a current CPR/BLS certificate accredited by the American Heart Association.
• Certifications: Current Advanced Cardiopulmonary Life Support Course (ACLS) certificate accredited by the American Heart Association. CNOR certification accredited by the Competency & Credentialing Institute (CCI) preferred.
