**Position Available: Nurse Practitioner - Neurosurgery (Outpatient Setting)**

**Salary:** $118,000 - $140,000 annually

**Job Overview:**

Medix is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join one of our esteemed clients, a top health system located in northern Manhattan. This position is ideal for a skilled NP with a passion for neurosurgery in an outpatient setting. As a crucial member of the team, you will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations to develop accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.

- Order and interpret lab tests and imaging studies as needed.

- Evaluate and clear patients for surgery, ensuring optimal preoperative conditions.

- Prescribe medications and refer patients to appropriate specialists.

- Manage patient care through various modes including telephone, telehealth, and face-to-face consultations.

- Provide follow-up care and address urgent issues with same-day or next-day appointments.

- Assist in the scheduling and coordination of surgical procedures.

- Facilitate patient admissions and collaborate with the inpatient team during daily rounds.

- Offer patient education regarding pre- and post-operative care.

- Refer patients to specialized care and multidisciplinary teams as required.

- Participate in clinical meetings, including weekly NP sessions, departmental grand rounds, and multidisciplinary conferences.

- Engage in research activities in line with Good Clinical Practices (GCP) relevant to patient care.

- Provide coverage for vacant roles and support Nurse Practitioners on leave.

**Required Qualifications:**

- Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) with prescriptive authority (or eligibility).

- Minimum of 4 years of nursing experience, with current New York State NP and RN licenses (or eligibility).

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Experience in neurosurgery, neurology, critical care, or emergency care.

- Recent NP graduates are encouraged to apply.

**Additional Requirements:**

- BLS Certification.

- DEA Certification.

- Board Certification by ANCC or AANP (or eligibility).
