We are seeking a Physical Therapist to join our team!.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement physical therapy programs that focus on rehabilitation and achieving an positive outcome.
  • Work directly with patients to achieve maximum physical recovery
  • Evaluate effects of therapy treatment and communicate patients' progress
  • Record and document patient care services
  • Collaborate with other team personnel to achieve well-rounded care
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in physical therapy, rehabilitation, or other related field
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Ability to build rapport with patients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership qualities.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Clinical Director and according to professional standards, the Physical Therapist plans and executes the patients treatment program; coordinates with the team, patient and family to develop a goal directed program; maintains accurate records of services provided; is responsible for following departmental procedures, maintaining professional standards and seeking professional growth.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES :
Planning, coordinating and executing patient treatment programs and discharge plans which include:
Maintains standards for treatment procedures and professional ethics established by the TPTA, APTA, and ECPTOTE.
Uses WebPTto document all progress notes, changes and physician communication notes.
Establishes appropriate goals and treatment plan. Modifies goals as appropriate and documents changes.
Executes treatments according to established treatment plan and adjusts treatments based on diagnosis and patient load. Able to perform treatment load as outlined by the program/departmental standards.
Responds to acute changes in patient status and modifies treatment techniques as indicated.
Prepares for and attends patient related meetings including team meetings, family conferences, and discharge planning meetings as outlined by program standards.
Leaves adequate treatment information for care of patient for anticipated absences according to program policies.
Provides instruction and supervision for patient treatment to LPTAs and techs according to program policy and procedure. After one year of clinical practice, may provide instruction and supervision to students.
Documents patient related activity according to policy procedure.
Completes daily charges and treatment records according to program policies and procedures.
Initiates incident reports and reviews with supervisor according to program policies and procedures.
Communicates and coordinates with staff, team and outside contracts concerning patient issues.
Performs chart audits.
Maintains appropriate billing code procedures and ensures billing accuracy.
Performs patient evaluation upon receipt of physicians orders:
Completes thorough evaluations in accordance with guidelines stated in program policies and procedures.
Follows standard professional procedures for assessments.
Demonstrates commitment to professional growth by:
Actively seeks out opportunities for continuing education including internal and external resources according to program policies and procedures.
Participates in in-services, case studies, and peer review and product presentations relative to professional practice. Takes initiative to train other disciplines, techs, volunteers and students.
Compliance with all mandatory in-services and certifications.
Marketing therapy services to local physicians when and if requested by the Clinical Director.
Assists Clinical Director in business goal developments.
Performs miscellaneous responsibilities as directed:
Takes initiative to train other disciplines, aides, volunteers and students. Assists supervisors in performance appraisals when appropriate.
Functions peripheral to this position may include clerical duties, equipment inventory and manual modification and/or adjustment of equipment.
Assists Clinical Director in assuring the clinic is in HIPPA compliance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must be able to work independently, complete tasks without supervision and demonstrate independence with decision-making and problem solving in job related activities. Exhibits regular, predictable attendance in accordance with departmental policies and able to manage time demands effectively. Demonstrates flexibility to changing work environment or responsibilities and must be able to function in emergency situations. Exhibits professional and ethical conduct at all times and is courteous with patients, co-workers, family members, doctors and the general public. Appropriately handles confidential information regarding patient records. Must take initiative to set own schedule and patient related goals. Maintains a safe working environment, provides instruction to family, patients and other professionals and communicates effectively using written, verbal, computer and telephone communication. Uses a broad variety of small tools and electrical equipment and patient care appliances routinely to provide patient care. Population served may range from infant to geriatrics. Must pass competency checklist for all responsibilities outlined by departmental/program policy. Will participate and promote positive team interactions to ensure quality patient care and interdisciplinary collaboration.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required: Doctorate of Physical Therapy
Preferred: Experience as a member of an interdisciplinary team with patients presenting a variety of neurological and orthopedic diagnoses.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:
Required: Current license to practice in the State of Texas
Current First Aid and CPR Certification
Valid Texas Drivers License (if assigned to operate system vehicles)
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to: Therapist in Charge & Clinical Director
ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS/HAZARDS CONDITIONS:

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Inside Spends approximately 38 hours or more per week inside
WORK POSITIONS (DEFINED IN 10% INCREMENTS OF WORK TIME):
