Duties
- Provide direct patient care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
- Monitor patients' vital signs and assess their condition post-surgery
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Assist with patient discharge planning and education
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Perform triage and prioritize patient care based on acuity level
- Prepare patients for surgery by ensuring all necessary documentation is in order and that the patient meets all clinical requirements to proceed safely to the OR
Requirements
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland
- Previous experience in a PACU
- Experience in Preop
- Knowledge of health coaching principles and practices
- Familiarity with ambulatory surgery center operations
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Proficiency in discharge planning and patient education
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
- Excellent customer service skills
