Will assist and/or participate in a wide variety of administrative/research activities, including extracting data from reports and creating spreadsheets, preparing and assisting in study start-up activities, updating IRB documents, training incoming students on study specific activities, screening and recruit patients, study team and PI correspondence and prepare various documents.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data collection, organization, analysis, and maintenance (i.e. interviewing, survey creation and compiling, etc.)

Screening and recruitment.

Drafting and editing papers and other documents

Assisting in study start-up activities

Communication with participants and others involved with the study

May train students and other assistants

May oversee projects and other research assistants

Other job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Preferred Qualifications

* Knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

* Knowledge of research procedure, qualitative and/or quantitative.

* Basic knowledge of UNM IRB processes

* Proficiency in research databases such as OpenClinica, REDCap, etc.

* Familiarity with basic medical ethics in clinical research

* Basic knowledge of clinical terminology and medical chart organization

* Strong interpersonal, communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community

* Ability to analyze and solve problems

* Ability to make independent administrative/procedural decisions and judgments

* Powerchart Access

* Previous completion of UNM Financial Conflicts of Interest Training and HIPAA training modules

* Completion of CITI Human Research Protections Training within the past 2 years
