A Day in the LifeThis position is responsible for managing and executing IFU deliverables for multiple labeling projects throughout the product lifecycle for Medtronic’s Surgical Portfolio in North Haven, CT, and other Medtronic sites. Activities include project planning for IFU development, supporting IFU requests from project teams, facilitating graphics and template creation, driving ECO activities, requesting and tracking translations and completing implementation activities (eg, print proofs).
Location: There is a preference to have an employee work hybrid out of North Haven, CT / Lafayette, CO / Boston, MA / Plymouth, MN or remote within the U.S.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
  • Manage complex labeling-related programs, schedules, milestones, inter-dependencies, deliverables, and resources
  • Act as a point of contact for, and liaison to, labeling planning, strategy, development, logistics, interdependencies, etc.
  • Work with management and functional groups to ensure use of standard business processes and procedures to support compliance with federal and international regulations and industry standards.
  • Provide direction to technical writers and graphic designers supporting IFU deliverables.
  • Participate, or ensure team participation on, high-level product development team(s).
  • Coordinate/manage labeling program team work with all related functional groups and outside contractors and suppliers. Proactively communicate labeling interdependencies to project and program managers.
  • Serve as key communications contact with management to provide information and status on schedules, milestones, deliverables, etc., and to identify resource issues and needs.
  • Ensure labeling deliverables are on schedule.
  • Partner with Medtronic Translations to request and prioritize translation projects across programs, monitor translation progress, and communicate translation status to project and program managers.
  • Support key cross-functional and cross-business unit partnerships.
  • Partner with technical writing team to develop, communicate, and execute a labeling strategy for projects and programs. Seek input from a variety of functional areas and stakeholders on labeling program strategy.
  • Provide input on department process and practice efficiencies and internal department initiatives.
  • Creates, reviews, and reproduces text required for labeling medical products.
  • Ensures that labeling, art, film, and plate proofs meet all medical, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors changes in labeling regulations in the US and/or abroad.
  • Reviews promotional and commercial communication material and ensures that it is supported by the data and consistent with the application.
  • Monitor, evaluate and recommend improvements to labeling processes, quality, systems tools and/or policies.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of experience managing projects or programs under design controls including managing schedules, milestones, deliverables, and resources.
OR
  • An advanced degree with 0 years of experience
Nice to Have
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Communications, Systems Engineering, English, Journalism, Project Management, or related field
  • Experience managing complex projects or programs, especially electronic products, labeling, medical devices or pharmaceuticals
  • Experience leading projects to completion
  • Excellent people and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Technical Writing experience in a regulated environment
  • Experience interacting with a broad range of functional groups and individuals at various levels of the organization
  • Experience managing multiple projects successfully
  • Experience using electronic tools for managing projects, routing reviews and approvals, etc.
  • 2 years of experience in cross-functional, cross-geography project management
  • 2 years of experience in a labeling creation environment
  • Experience working with cross-geography projects and teams
  • Experience working on projects requiring localization/translation

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):71,200.00-106,800.00
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
