In this exciting position you will be in the heart of Diabetes Finance Organization contributing to the critical Controllership processes and outputs that require agility, precision and business acumen. You will partner with the global Diabetes finance organization to consolidate Diabetes financial results. Along with this fast-paced work, the ultimate satisfaction will be knowing that you will help shape the outcome of a patient’s decision on therapy options.
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be a key contributor and part of a team supporting the day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting of the Diabetes Operating Unit. This covers the period-end financial closing for US GAAP and management reporting, delivering timely submission of statutory financial reporting, improving finance processes and controls, supporting internal and external audits, and performing technical accounting and research.
Responsibilities may include the following, and other duties may be assigned:
• Deliver timely period end closing for month end, quarter end, and year end, working closely with financial shared services and other support functions.
• Deliver financial closing and reporting in compliance with US GAAP and local statutory financial standards.
• Compile and analyze financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy.
• Prepare journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations and strengthen balance sheet controls.
• Work with external auditors and tax consultants to deliver statutory and regulatory reporting on time including statutory financial audits, corporate tax & indirect tax filings, etc.
• Support internal control requirements including SOX compliance.
• Support any other legal entity fiduciary responsibilities as needed.
• Work closely with business/functional users and value-stream stakeholders to improve finance processes.
• Participate in the Controllership and Diabetes OU finance process improvement initiatives to improve finance value streams where necessary.
• Provide technical support and accounting for M&A activities.
• Oversee technical accounting research for complex business transactions and implementation of new accounting standards.
• Drives continuous improvement initiatives and works on ad-hoc projects
• Bachelor’s Degree with 4 years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting (Or Advanced Degree with 2 years)
• Accounting qualification (e.g. CPA, ACCA, CIMA etc. or equivalent)
• Work experience preferably in a large, multi-national organization or in Audit (Big 4 or similar)
• Broad knowledge of financial and management accounting
• US GAAP and/or IFRS exposure will be important
• Working knowledge of SAP and reporting skills
• High proficiency in MS Excel
• Demonstrated ability to manage to tight deadlines, along with flexibility to changing priorities
• Excellent business partnering skills, and an ability to work both on one’s own initiative and with a team
• Strong data analytical and reporting skills
• Excellent communication and writing skills

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
