Senior Accountant

Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant in the Charlotte, NC area to join their corporate leadership team. This is a highly reputable, well-established boutique recruiting firm with a niche focus in placing Engineering contractors across the country with both private and government entities. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and self-motivated to ensure you meet deadlines and performance goals in addition to being collaborative team focused.

What You’ll Do

• Perform month-end closing procedures with accuracy and efficiency.
• Reconcile accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Review payroll, and process monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll taxes for multiple states (experience preferred).
• Collaborate with outside consultants to learn and implement Deltek Costpoint ERP system (highly preferred).
• Serve as a backup for payroll processing and accounts receivable functions.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior accounting staff.
• Provide support for Controller tasks as needed, including financial analysis and reporting.

What You Need

• Proven experience in month-end closing and accounts reconciliation.
• Familiarity with payroll processes and experience with payroll taxes (preferred).
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint ERP is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
