Meeting Street is currently looking for a PreK Teacher Assistant for 40 hours per week.
Duties:

• Provides assistance to the teacher in the classroom in regard to daily activities, cleanliness, supervision, curriculum and assessment.
• Maintains a clean, organized and child-friendly learning environment in accordance with state regulations.
• Always maintains supervision of children (indoor/outdoor) using licensing ratios. Provides adequate, hands-on supervision during outdoor play.
• Fosters the development of age-appropriate self-help skills in children.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED required, Associate degree in related field preferred.
• Meets all requirements of the Rhode Island Department of Education standards as found in Rhode Island General Law 16-11.2.
• A minimum of one (1) year working experience with young children, birth to age 5.

Preschool and Pre-K assistants must have:

• Teacher Assistant Certificate from Rhode Island or 12 college credits in Early Childhood Education.
• Foundations of Rhode Island Learning and Development Standards (or the former RIELS level 1).
• Valid CPR and first aid training/certification.
