The Opportunity We have room on our team for a Proposal and Project Financial Analyst in either our Alexandria, VA or Seattle, WA office. Please indicate your preference in your cover letter.
In this role you will contribute to our ongoing work on an array of research, evaluation, and technical assistance projects. The work you do will focus on phases of our project lifecycle, from business development and proposal writing through project execution. This is a dynamic position that will benefit from someone adept at multi-tasking and thinking creatively about how to leverage data and reporting tools to support organizational management.
The Ideal Candidate Will Support The Management And Administrative Needs Of MEF’s Proposal Writing And Project Process. Depending On Candidate Skill Set, This May Include
This role includes work to be performed primarily in an office environment. It typically includes frequent phone/audio communication and/or video conferencing usage; extensive computer, keyboard, and mouse use; and occasional travel. This position can be based out of either our Seattle, Washington or Alexandria, Virginia offices. We are also potentially open to remote hires.
Compensation and benefits: The salary range for this position is $70k to $90k depending on experience. MEF offers comprehensive benefits.

The Ideal Candidate Will Support The Management And Administrative Needs Of MEF’s Proposal Writing And Project Process. Depending On Candidate Skill Set, This May Include
- Maintaining written finance/accounting policies and procedures
- Collaborating with Project Directors to monitor project status and adherence to work plans (e.g., cost to complete estimates, budget modifications, reporting requirements for internal quarterly project review).
- Supporting leadership in developing financial and project management reports to support monitoring of project progress, staffing needs, and adherence to work plans
- Developing and maintaining tools to track progress on all phases of proposal process
- Assisting in the production of proposals, including overall management of timeline and logistics, development of business proposal volumes, production of budget templates, and gathering of supporting documents
- At minimum, must have a BA/BS in public administration, finance, accounting, or a related field with at least 3 years of related experience
- Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe products
- Deep expertise in Microsoft Excel, including its advanced functionality
- Experience presenting complex financial information in user-friendly ways. Proficiency in Power BI is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize competing responsibilities, and maintain a high level of attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Relationship-driven, effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others in a respectful way
