Position Overview
We are seeking a committed and detail-oriented Paralegal with Family Law and/or Civil Litigation experience to support our attorneys in delivering exceptional legal services. The ideal candidate will engage in a variety of responsibilities, including document preparation, client interviews, legal research, and trial preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss active cases and projects.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, affidavits, and interrogatories, ensuring adherence to judicial procedures.
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis on statutes, regulations, legal articles, and judicial decisions, providing comprehensive written summaries to attorneys.
  • Interview clients and witnesses and prepare concise summaries of their statements.
  • Organize, maintain, and retrieve case files, including evidence, exhibits, depositions, and other relevant materials.
  • Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including attending trials and hearings as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of billable hours linked to specific cases.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support the firm, including:
    • Organizing, maintaining, and updating physical and electronic files
    • Scheduling meetings and managing calendars
    • Preparing various letters
    • Tracking tasks and follow-ups
    • Assisting with accounting and billing
    • Responding to phone inquiries
    • Providing administrative document support (e.g., cover letters)
    • Supporting other paralegals as needed

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology, research methodologies, court pleadings, and processes.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective time management skills with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, occasionally high-pressure environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercising sound judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies or a related field is preferred.
  • Family Law and/or Civil Litigation experience is required.
  • Relevant experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
