MEMCO is Hiring a MAINTENANCE MECHANIC Near Houston, TX
Job Function:
- Performs routine repairs, preventative maintenance, and replacement of inside and outside building fixtures including plumbing, lighting, water fountains, doors, locks, and cabinets.
- Performs minor repairs, maintenance and preventative maintenance to plumbing, electrical, and HVAC equipment and systems.
- Efficiently completes corrective and preventative work orders as assigned.
- Participates in the planning of repairs or facility related projects.
- Assists with managing agency wide work orders and creates proactive work orders to correct building deficiencies.
- Reports needed repairs to the facilities department.
- Performs building audits to discover and perform needed repairs of building equipment and systems.
- Completes equipment logs and other facilities documentation as directed in a timely manner.
- Assembles, installs, maintains, and moves furniture from the site
- Assists with maintaining and purchasing an appropriate level of maintenance-related parts, supplies and equipment.
- Performs routine maintenance to all vehicles including oil gas, registration, and keeping registrations current.
- Supervises contractors working at the sites as needed.
- Inspects and monitors building equipment and systems for proper operation.
- Offers guidance, training and support to Mobile Facilities Maintenance Technician.
- Responsible for maintaining current knowledge with all local, state and federal regulations which affect building requirements.
- Assists in the development of facility related processes and procedures
- Provides regular communication regarding maintenance or projects to program staff and officials at collaborative sites.
- Follow industry, government, and organizational safety procedures.
- Performs other related duties as needed and assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year of experience performing general building maintenance in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical system
- Valid TX Driver License
- Valid Vehicle Insurance
- License/certification in Plumbing, electrical, and carpentry preferred
- Pass Pre-Employment Drug Screen
- Clean driving record
- FBI Background Check
- TB testing
Ability to properly and safely use basic hand maintenance tools.
Ability to perform minor carpentry, plumbing, ac, and electrical repairs.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and complete work orders according to procedures.
Ability to understand and interpret instructions for the assembly of items.
