What You'll Do:
At the delegation of a licensed RN or licensed nurse under the delegation of an RN, administer scheduled oral medications, topical medications, medications administered as nasal spray, or as drops, or ointment to a resident’s eye, ear or nose, rectal and vaginal medications, inhalants delivered by inhalers, nebulizers or aerosols that allow for a single dose of a fixed pre-measured amount of medication. Completes the MAR for all medications administered at the time of administration. Reports to the nurse the potential need for the administration of an as-needed medication, refusal by a resident to comply with medication administration, any deviation from the delegated medication administration, any unanticipated reaction by the resident to the medication administration, anything about the condition of a resident that should cause concern to the certified medication aide. The medication aide shall store and prepare medications in accordance with manufacturer's or pharmacist's instructions.
Assists with grooming (e.g., shampoos, combs and brushes hair; assists with and/or performs denture and mouth care; shaves residents; dresses residents; performs nail care; cleans glasses and hearing aids; etc.); reports observations of skin and changes of condition in residents to nurses as needed.
Conducts regular bed checks; turns residents to prevent bed sores; changes wet and soiled linen; does peri-care as needed; responds to calls from residents within a reasonable time; provides restorative and rehabilitative care, per care plans.
Prepares residents for meals; transports residents to dining room at appropriate times; passes out snacks as provided; serves food trays; feeds residents as needed; passes out fresh water and ice; documents all intake of meals, fluids, substitutes, and snacks accepted in POC; assist with the Hydration and Snack Cart during shift; completes all required documentation as necessary i.e., PCC documentation, Restorative/Functional Maintenance documentation and POC documentation.
Checks vital signs; empties drainage bags, urinals, and bed pans; reports I & O’s, and weights as directed.
What You'll Bring: Completion of secondary education or equivalent; completion of a state-approved Nursing Assistant Training Program; must obtain State Tested Nursing Assistant’s (STNA) certification.
Must possess and maintain certification as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) in the state of Ohio.
Shift1st with every other weekend required
Hours80 per pay (every 2 weeks)
