Education Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in accounting, finance, or business related field. MBA and/or CPA preferred but not required.
- Minimum of two years experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the healthcare setting.
- Must possess strong computer skills and working knowledge of MS Office suite applications.
- Must be able to work in a fast changing environment.
- Possess good analytical skills and maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Strong understanding of GAAP presentation and applicable tax matters impacting the payroll function.
- Possess strong knowledge of payroll procedures and general ledger entries.
- Must possess ability to compile data, analyze and develop recommendations along with clear presentation of analysis.
- Must possess excellent communication skills and human relations skills.
- Understands scope of responsibilities and completes tasks, follow-up, research and projects by established due dates with little prompting.
- Possess strong understanding of business applications utilized by the Payroll Department, including the system Payroll module (Lawson) and the WFM Solution (API).

- EFFICIENCY: Reduce Waste - I use time and resources wisely. I prevent defects and delays.
- Propose and participate in quality improvement initiatives designed to reengineer, eliminate, or continuously improve payroll processing leading to more efficient and effective payroll processes and/or improved customer service.
- Promote customer relations by adhering to MHS’s Behavioral Standards and Code of Conduct.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee data and patient clinical and financial information.
- Maintain current knowledge and adhere to all relevant Administrative and departmental policies, and governmental regulations.
