Job Summary

Position is responsible for providing expert perioperative patient care through the use of equipment and instrumentation. Position functions as a scrub assistant to the physician performing operative and/or invasive procedures. Works under the direction of a Registered Nurse and as outlined in the Surgical Technologist Skills Inventory; uses knowledge/expertise to act as a role model and resource for other staff.

Job Description

Certified Surgical Technologist, PRN Varied Shift

* PRN (as needed); Varied shifts (6:30am-3pm/ 9am-5:30pm/ 2:30pm-11pm)

* Minimum commitment of 4 shifts/ month

* CST required

* BLS required (American Heart Association)

* 1 year of Hospital experience required

* 3-5 years of Ortho experience preferred

This position is located at Memorial Hermann Cypress.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program

License/Certification: Certified in Basic Life Support and current Certification as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

* New Grad <1 year

* Surg Tech I =1 year

* Surg Tech II = 2-4 years

* Surg Tech III = 5 years
