In the Department of Lab Medicine and Pathology at MSK, we're taking daring steps to redefine what's possible! Our innovative clinical laboratories provide sophisticated technology and automated equipment that allow us to get to answers faster and more efficiently, with a strong emphasis on applied and translational research. We are committed to the growth and advancement of the department, and fully support the active collaboration of scientists, clinicians, and industry guides to develop next-generation laboratory methods.   • A Day in the Life | Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

Role Overview:

  • Review requisitions and order entry orders to verify the accuracy of corresponding specimens, and enter required data into the computer
  • Prepare specimens for testing or send out to another laboratory for testing using the laboratory computer system
  • Maintain a complete, accurate, and organized file system, filing addition/correction sheets, requisitions, and reference laboratories' results according to laboratory guidelines
  • Maintain an organized and secure supply area and reagent storage area to ensure easy access to reagents, chemicals, and supplies
  • Contribute to the upkeep and safety of the laboratory and assure a clean, safe, adequately supplied work area

Key Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED 1-2 years of confirmed experience
  • Strong digital literacy in Word and Excel
  • Excellent information leadership skills to communicate, explain, interpret, share, and present information to laboratory and hospital staff

Core Skills:

  • An effective communicator, capable of resolving how best to reach different audiences
  • Flexible in your approach and demeanor in order to align with the shifting demands of evolving circumstances
  • Adept at crafting partnerships and working collaboratively to meet shared objectives and goals
  • Very comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Additional Information:

  • Shift: Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM

Pay Range: $22.12-$33.13
