Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at our program in Philadelphia.As an LPN at Merakey, you'll provide direct nursing care to individuals with developmental and physical disabilities. Your responsibilities will include clinical assessments, monitoring seizure activity, and administering medications.Essential Job Functions:* Conduct nursing assessments on residents to identify signs and symptoms of illness, reporting findings to the nursing supervisor.* Identify health issues and follow through to resolution, documenting all actions.* Review, transcribe, and administer physician's orders accurately.* Collaborate with various healthcare professionals and specialists to coordinate care, keeping the nursing supervisor informed.* Provide health education to residents and their families, including self-medication programs.* Conduct effective in-service training for staff to ensure compliance with protocols and procedures.* Communicate health changes and new orders to the interdisciplinary team, participating in unit staff meetings and incident reviews.* Utilize the least restrictive approaches to behavior management and demonstrate knowledge of psychiatric emergencies.* Respond effectively to emergency situations in a calm, constructive, and positive manner, following the nursing supervisor's direction.* Implement self-medication programs.* Perform general nursing duties including medicine administration, physician visits, quarterly reports and physical assessments, monthly breast exams, and case review meetings.* Administer bolus and/or tube feedings.* Tracheostomy care.Earn $29/hour.Benefits:Merakey offers competitive compensation plans, Work/Life balance, flexible schedules, cell phone discount plans, employee referral bonuses, tuition reimbursement and much more!To fill out an on-line application: www.merakey.org/careersRequisition #: 89348ABOUT MERAKEYMerakey is a leading developmental, behavioral health, and education non-profit provider with a fifty-year history.
