The College offers students 69 Degree Program Options and 35 Credit Certificates from which to choose

Nursing instructors are sought to teach clinical and/or didactic content primarily in medical/surgical content. The nursing instructor positions requires alternate semester rotation from a day schedule to an evening/weekend schedule. The positions require unrestricted current New Jersey registered nurse license, CPR certification, current clinical competence, and a Master’s degree or higher in Nursing.

This is a 12 month Full time Faculty appointment to begin August 2023.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, to be conducted in accordance with college policies, procedures, collective bargaining contracts and applicable laws. Other duties may be assigned.

Teaching and Advising Responsibilities
  • Presenting course content to students;
  • Guiding student class discussions;
  • Guiding and assisting students in laboratory, studio, field experience, clinical experience, work experience or other experiential learning activities;
  • Evaluating student learning;
  • Assisting students with coursework;
  • Assisting students to make decisions regarding courses and programs of study;
  • Performing essential preparation relative to assigned workload.

Instructional Support and Development Responsibilities:
  • Coordinating courses of instruction: managing learning systems; coordinating and/or supervising the instructional efforts of others.
  • Designing, evaluating, and improving courses of instruction including: course objectives, instructional strategies/modes/techniques, and methods/systems for evaluating student learning.
  • Coordinating programs of study: coordinating advisement and performing liaison with outside agencies.
  • Designing, evaluating, and improving programs of study.

Other Responsibilities
  • Participating in College governance and operations through divisional or committee work, and the like;
  • Advising extra-curricular student groups or activities;
  • Representing the College in professional or community activities, student recruiting, and the like;
  • Otherwise voluntarily contributing to the College or the community as an identified member of the College Faculty;
  • Developing individual ability for successful performance.
  • Assist in preparing materials for accreditation reports, as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in nursing required
  • Current unrestricted NJ Registered Professional Nurse license
  • Maintain required licensure and continuing education requirements
  • Possess and maintain current CPR certification as a Health Care Provider
  • Current clinical competence
  • Applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of nursing.

  • Must comply with medical clearance requirements for placement in clinical settings, including COVID vaccination

Preferred Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

  • Prior nursing education experience preferred.
  • Possess communication skills to communicate effectively and sensitively with others.
  • Demonstrate cognitive abilities to measure, calculate, reason, analyze, integrate, and synthesize in the context of nursing practice.
  • Possess the emotional health for full utilization of intellectual ability, the exercise of good judgement, and the prompt completion of nursing responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate professional conduct to support the practice of nursing in an ethical manner.
