Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Human Resources preferred
- Experience in personnel administration including labor relations, contract negotiations, wage and benefit coordination and employee selection and recruitment
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and strong interpersonal, organizational and computer skills
- Knowledge of school certification and licensing requirements
- Public School District experience preferred
- Experience with Systems 3000, Frontline and NJ Smart reporting preferred
Education or experience can be substituted for the stated requirements as determined by the Superintendent and approved by the Board of Education
Reports to: Superintendent and/or Designee
Job Goal: Under the direction of the Superintendent to plan, coordinate, organize and supervise the operation of the Department of Human Resources including recruitment, selection, classification, wage and salary, employee relations and collective bargaining units.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for maintaining the district’s computerized Human Resources system
- Coordinates and processes Human Resources recommendations on behalf of the Superintendent to the Board for approval
- Prepares the monthly personnel agenda and reviews proposed Board action with the Superintendent, responsible for all assignments, transfer, dismissal and promotion recommendations presented to the Superintendent for Board of Education approval
- Assumes responsibility for the planning of all evaluation instruments and procedure, which can be utilized to evaluate all Board of Education employees in accordance with Title 18A and Board policy
- Insures proper certification of professional staff
- Assists in all Reductions in force
- Assists with the interpretation of all bargaining agreement language
- Ensures necessary posting and advertising of all staffing vacancies
- Identifies status of tenured and non-tenured staff
- Prepares and submits state reports in a timely manner
- Performs all other job related duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent or designee
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the medical and physical capacity to perform the major responsibilities.
Required criminal history background check and proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status
Must be a NJ resident within one year from the date of hire.
