We are looking for a motivated and experienced Facilities Supervisor and HVAC Service Technician Lead to diagnose, repair, commission, and maintain a wide range of HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance. Additionally, provide comprehensive support to the entire campus to ensure full operational efficiency and high employee satisfaction.
Job duties often include:
- Conduct, maintain, test, install and repair commercial air conditioning equipment (50 to 500-ton systems) including air conditioners, compressors, condensers, pumps, control systems and chilled water systems.
- Conduct, maintain, test, install and repair mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. Applies knowledge of mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. Provides skilled mechanical support to all areas.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, detect and replace defective control modules, test and make adjustments.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, O.E.M. instructions and specifications.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and hours worked.
- Communicate effectively with customers, addressing their concerns and providing expert advice on HVAC systems.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality service and resolving any issues promptly.
- Estimate jobs/projects. Specify parts and materials, as needed.
- Plan and perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, local and national codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of equipment.
- Install start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
- Stay updated on the latest HVAC technologies, tools, and techniques.
- Inform appropriate management and line mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
- Ensures that all assigned daily and special tasks are completed as scheduled.
- Perform other duties as required.
Education Requirements:
- Education and Licensing: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Must possess an HVAC Journeyman license or be able to obtain one within 6 months of hire.
- Experience: At least 5 years of facilities maintenance experience, with a minimum of 6 months in a commercial or production setting.
- Driving Requirements: Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Self-Management: Ability to independently manage daily, weekly, and monthly tasks, including preventive maintenance (PMs).
- Communication Skills: Strong communication abilities, including phone and email etiquette.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.
- Safety Awareness: Excellent safety record with a solid understanding of safe work practices.
Essential Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Ability to maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include: Performing physical activities that require considerable use of body strength, sitting, standing, climbing stairs, or walking for extended periods of time; operating tools and office equipment; and lifting up to 100 pounds.
- Visual Acuity; ability to see and hear within normal parameters, must use hands and fingers to use keyboard and mouse when required by essential functions of position; operate equipment or controls; reach above shoulder heights, below the waist; or lift to perform the essential functions of the job throughout the work day. Proper lifting techniques required.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise in the work environment may exceed moderate levels.
