Mercy Community Healthcare has an opening for an enthusiastic and passionate Certified Medical Assistant.

What does this job look like?

• Work with a Primary Care Provider who sees pediatric and adult patients.
• Take vital signs, obtain info on patient's chief complaints; administer vaccines; collect necessary paperwork; assist with patient procedures.
• Work with the primary care team to contact patients concerning appointments and lab results.
• Perform specialized procedures, such as phlebotomy, and simple wound care, under appropriate protocol and procedural guidelines.
• Set up, clean, and disinfect exam rooms and medical equipment and maintain stocks of medical supplies, as necessary.
• Work with the nursing team to achieve quality improvement by proactively looking for ways to improve patient flow, quality of care, safety, and health.

What are the job requirements?

• High school diploma or equivalent and certification as a Medical Assistant
• Ability to use and document patient notes in the Electronic Medical Record.
• Must have a certification as a medical assistant or ability to obtain it within 90 days of employment.
• Must have outstanding communication skills.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain with 90 days of employment.
