Introduction:

The Housing Solutions Supervisor is responsible for supporting and motivating approximately 5-8 Housing Solutions Cases Managers and maintains a small caseload. This position reports to the Housing Solutions Program Manager, Corona. The Housing Solutions Supervisor is responsible for the ongoing needs assessment, personal housing stability and service plans, implementation, support, information, referral, and advocacy for individuals who are in a Mercy House Housing Intervention Program. This position requires successful working relationships with residents that support their ability to increase their self-reliance. This position will influence and recognize positive behavior changes and will identify problems and obstacles that threaten to undermine residents’ self-reliance and housing stability. Keeping clear and accurate files and records is essential to this position. This position will ensure that the team is practicing trauma informed and client focused strategies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree, Social Work (or related field) with experience working in chemical health, mental health, co-occurring disorders is preferred. Persons with less than a BA/BS degree but with at least 2 years of direct life experience working with long-term homeless, low income, and diverse populations and have a working knowledge of mental health and addictions issues are welcome to apply. Management experience is of significant value. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently are required. Knowledge of how to use Microsoft programs and computer literacy are required. Valid CA driver’s license, proof of insurance and reliable vehicle is required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

I. Client/Service Delivery:

· Maintain a caseload of 5-7 clients. Meet with clients based on their need and in compliance with grant requirements.

· Utilize harm reduction interventions and methodologies to provide client centered services that keep them in housing.

· Utilize skills regarding crisis prevention and intervention

· Assist residents to build their strengths and recognize their needs in a respectful manner.

· Visit and inspect resident apartments to ensure that they are properly maintained

· Be knowledgeable of community resources and refer clients as needed.

· Facilitate relationship building between landlords/caretakers and clients.

· Keep accurate, up to date casefiles including documentation on all clients, including but not limited to stabilization plans, case notes, etc.

· Complete all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner that ensures payment to the agency from various sources.

· Assist with any and all data collection systems.

II. Team Management:

· Supervise approximately 5- 7 Housing Solutions Case Managers facilitating optimal performance.

· Demonstrate leadership and team building qualities in order to implement the mission, ensure quality services and core values of the agency.

· Train and direct new Housing Solutions Case Managers and assisting them with day-to-day questions relating to the completion of their job assignments.

· Oversee quality control of Case Files on a quarterly basis to ensure accurate, up to date documentation on all clients, including but not limited to stabilization plans, case notes, etc.

· Provide support and guidance to HSS Direct Reports when necessary

· Coordinate trainings and orientations when needed

· Meet with identified staff individually at least monthly

· Meet with entire team as a whole monthly

· Conduct 90-day probation, midyear and annual reviews

· Approve Absence from Work requests and approve staff’s Time ledger submissions, ensuring that submissions are submitted correctly and on time.

· Approve monthly mileage reimbursement requests

III. Miscellaneous:

· Assist Program Manager in overseeing social and recreational activities designed to promote community involvement and peer support.

· Assist Program Manager with volunteers and community resources to assure that residents are linked with services such as employment, education, tutoring and/or mentoring.

· Attend staff meetings and community meeting as assigned.

· Attend training that increase knowledge of effectively meeting clients’ needs (including co-occurring disorders, harm reduction, and cultural competence).

· Willingness to gain knowledge and understanding of Adult Rehabilitative, mental Health Services and Substance Abuse Treatments, etc.

· Other duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
