Organization Overview: Mercy Medical Angels’ (MMA) mission is “Removing the barrier to medical care with transportation on the ground and in the air.” As the nation’s oldest and largest provider of free transportation for those in need to reach their critical medical treatments, MMA is seeking a Development Associate to work collaboratively with the staff to expand fundraising capacity in support of our mission and clients. The Development Associate position is an opportunity to be an integral part of a team that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of thousands of children, Veterans, and adults across the country.

Position Overview: The Development Associate will provide support to meet annual fundraising goals. The position combines donor communications, fundraising appeals, and project coordination to implement the annual development strategy. The Development Associate will be responsible for gift entry and donor acknowledgement, assisting with preparing mid-year and end of year reports, maintaining the development calendar, and accurate database records. The position also involves special events and assistance with donor stewardship, prospect research, tracking funding requests and results, and other duties as assigned. The position reports to the Director of Development. It is a remote position based in Hampton Roads area of VA and may require occasional overnight and weekend work related to donor events.

Qualifications:

· Minimum 3 - 4 years of nonprofit fundraising experience.

· Minimum 2 years administering a database or CRM (DonorPerfect preferred, but experience with programs such as Salsa, Raiser’s Edge, Bloomerang, etc. a plus) and strong familiarity with gift entry/data processing.

· A bachelor’s degree or 2-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Salary & Benefits:

· Hiring range: (based on prior experience) $45K-$50K

· Medical, dental and vision (Medical covered at 90% after the first 90 days of employment. Dental and Vision are covered at 100% for eligible employees and their dependents)

· 12 paid holidays and generous PTO (accrued time based on length of tenure)

· IRA retirement option (employee only) for regular, full-time employees with employer match up to 3%.

· Remote working environment, with occasional on-site visits to MMA office in Norfolk, VA.
