Merenda Wine is Hiring a Dishwasher Near Oceanside, CA
Merenda, a wine bar and retail shop arriving at The Flats boutique mixed-use project on Coast Hwy in South Oceanside, will open its doors to guests this fall. Merenda is the brainchild of a proud Oceanside local who brings a broad palette of cultural experiences to his coastal roots. Dishwashers play a crucial role in ensuring our kitchen and dining areas remain spotless and organized so that we can provide a seamless experience for our guests. You will be responsible for washing dishes, utensils, and glassware, as well as assisting with general kitchen maintenance and sanitation. A strong candidate is friendly, good at communicating, and is eager to grow and learn from the team. This position has potential for cross-training with other back-of-house roles.
The range of compensation is $20/hour plus tips. Tips are pooled and shared with FOH and BOH staff on a per-shift basis.
Merenda offers partially subsidized health insurance (must maintain 30 hours per week), 401(k) retirement plan, dining discounts and more!Must have a current food handler permit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently and thoroughly clean dishes, glassware, utensils, and cookware using dishwashing machines and manual cleaning methods.
- Ensure all kitchen and dining areas are maintained in accordance with health and safety regulations, including cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, floors, and equipment.
- Properly sort and store clean dishes, glassware, and utensils in designated areas to maintain an organized and functional workspace.
- Dispose of trash and recyclables in accordance with waste management procedures.

- Some previous full-service restaurant experience in a similar back-of-house position.
- A team-oriented and ego-free attitude.
- Professional integrity.
- Eagerness to learn and develop.
- Strong sense of urgency.
- Capacity to remain positive and composed under pressure.
- Unreasonable hospitality mindset (iykyk).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Capable of handling objects with hands.
- Regular bending, reaching, and stooping.
- Ability to lift, move, and carry objects weighing at least 50 pounds throughout the shift.
