FBO LINE SERVICE TECHNICIAN
Status: Part-time Non-exempt
Supervisor: FBO Manager

SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to greet, direct, and service aircraft on the FBO flight line, and to maintain all equipment needed for the completion of this position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are required for this position. This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and can be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities assigned and required by management that it deems applicable, indicated, or necessary at any time, with or without notice.

Greets and assists patrons with creative customer service.

Answers the telephone; screen calls; provides information and assistance.

Performs customer service type ramp duties such as direct aircraft to proper parking areas, service aircraft with fuel and oil, tow aircraft in /out of hanger using appropriate tow bar and tug and escort various private and company personnel unfamiliar with local area.

Performs service on wide variety of aircraft from small single piston engine general aviation aircraft to large commercial and military jet aircraft.

In coordination with Line Service Technician assigned Quality Control Representative duties, and as a team member, performs daily and monthly fuel truck and fuel farm quality and safety inspections. Additional duties for designated Quality Control Representatives include, but are not limited to, performing all weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly quality control and safety checks, handling all fuel audits for Meridian Aviation, repairing or replacing faulty equipment as needed, and coordinating required online training for employees.

Performs general grounds maintenance and landscaping functions, which may include mowing grass, trimming weeds, spraying grass/weed control chemicals, cutting trees/limbs, planting and maintaining flower beds, removing trash/debris, painting surfaces, and other manual work functions.

Operates a variety of machinery and tools associated with FBO operations, which may include a utility truck, tow tractor, push mower, weed eater, shovel, hand tools, mechanical tools, painting tools, and radio communications equipment.

Performs general maintenance tasks necessary to keep vehicles, equipment, tools, and facilities in operable condition, which may include inspecting equipment, refueling vehicles, checking/replacing fluids, greasing equipment, replacing parts, repairing equipment, washing/cleaning equipment, and cleaning shop and work areas; monitor equipment operations to maintain efficiency and safety; reports faulty equipment.

Follows safety procedures, utilizes safety equipment, and monitor work environment to ensure safety of employees and other individuals.

In coordination with the Line Service Technician assigned Training Officer responsibilities, and as a member of the team, trains new employees to perform all tasks related to line service including safe and proper operation of all fueling and line service equipment, quality testing, proper customer service activities and all supporting paperwork.

Communicates with supervisor, employees, control tower personnel, airport personnel, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, exchange information, or resolve problems.

Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.

Conducts various errands as needed, such as picking up or delivering parts, supplies, and materials.

Responds to emergency situations after business hours when on‐call.

Provides assistance to other employees as needed.

Perform other related duties as required.

PERFORMANCE APTITUDES AND REQUIREMENTS
Physical Presence: The presence of the employee or collaboration of the employee in person is required.

Data Utilization: Requires the ability to calculate and/or tabulate data, performing subsequent actions in relation to these computational operations.

Human Interaction: Requires the ability to exchange information for the purpose of clarifying details within well‐established policies, procedures, and standards.

Equipment, Machinery, Tools. and Materials Utilization: Requires the ability to operate and control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools and/or materials requiring complex and rapid adjustments.

Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference, descriptive, and/or advisory data and information.

Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to apply principles of rational systems; to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form; and to exercise independent judgment to adopt or modify methods and standards to meet variations in assigned objectives.

Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving evaluation of information against measurable or verifiable criteria.

Physical Requirements: Stand/walk for most of the work shift. Perform repetitive job duties that require constant attention to operating process. Periodically push/pull containers weighing up to 50 pounds and lift containers up to 50 pounds. Climb to heights of up to 15 feet using a ladder while carrying weight of up to 40 lbs. Adjust to distractions and interruptions and handle multiple priorities simultaneously and safely.

Environment: Constant exposure to noise levels loud enough to require employees wear hearing protection. Extreme outdoors weather and temperature levels, fumes, vibration, etc., sufficient to cause minor discomfort, oily/wet conditions. Employees to wear protective eye wear, uniforms, and gloves.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by an eager willingness to learn the job fundamentals or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Candidates and employees must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age, fluently speak and read the English language, be authorized to legally work in the United States of America, and possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
