Merit Apprenticeship Alliance is Hiring a CNY Business Development Near East Syracuse, NY

Who you are: You have a background in commercial construction. Are keen to helping others develop good construction skills. Like working with contractors.

We have a “Sales Account Manager" position available in Central NY for you! Based out of East Syracuse, we are looking for a good natured, eager and organized individual to take on business development and regional management in the upstate New York region.

Who we are: Small, friendly (dog and people) office of 5, business casual culture with a focus on our mission.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Proven work experience as an Account Manager, Key Account Manager, Sales Account Manager, Junior Account Manager or relevant role
  • Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to meet sales quotas
  • Communicating with clients by phone, through email and face-to-face to ensure their needs are understood and addressed
  • Building strong client relationships to maintain old business and acquire new customers
  • Collaborating with various internal departments to ensure they fulfill all customer requests
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our programs and apprentices according to customer needs and objectives
  • Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
  • Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts)
  • Prepare reports on account status
  • identify and grow opportunities within territory
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization, including executive and C-level
  • Solid experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce, Zoho CRM or HubSpot) and MS Office (particularly MS Excel)
  • Experience delivering client-focused solutions to customer needs
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Participating in business development efforts (attend association events, collaborating on marketing strategies, outreach efforts, etc.).
  • Attend Career Days/Job Fair events in local region
  • Work with our HR department for recruitment, evaluation, selection and placement of apprentices
  • Conducting site visits with clients (at least 2 site visits per week).
  • Updating program data and information accurate to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Travel Required
  • 5 plus years in Sales or relevant field
