Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee hospital staff to ensure quality care and compliance with policies and mandated regulations.
  • Provide professional guidance for nursing personnel, manage disciplinary issues, and prepare administrative reports.
  • Review staffing and budgetary needs, integrating Nursing Services functions with other hospital departments.
  • Participate in program development and training for nurse recruitment activities and assist with continuing education programs.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate designated nursing staff; assign duties and coordinate nursing services.
  • Develop nursing protocols and procedures.
  • Provide continuing education and staff development opportunities for nursing staff.
  • Assess patient needs and participate in providing nursing care; ensure services are carried out and documented appropriately.
  • Maintain patient health care records and supply inventory records; order supplies and equipment as necessary.
  • Promote adherence to the Company's Code of Business Conduct and the Corporate Compliance Agreement by monitoring employee performance and identifying and responding to compliance issues.
QualificationsEducation:
  • Degree from an accredited school of nursing.
Licenses/Certification:
  • Required Licenses: Alabama Registered Nursing (RN) License required.
  • BLS/CPR, PALS, and ACLS certification required. BLS/CPR is required within 30 days of hire date. ACLS and PALS must be obtained within ninety (90) days of employment if not currently certified.
Experience:
  • Two years of nursing experience in a hospital setting highly preferred.
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory/leadership experience highly preferred.
