Position Overview:

The Teacher Assistant will work closely with our Daycare Director and Lead Teacher in conducting daily duties such as preparing and serving snacks, changing diapers, writing daily reports, recording attendance, engaging in play, assisting to put children to sleep, assisting with lesson plans, and creating a safe environment.

Essential Duties:

• Help develop and implement lesson plans.
• Follow State Regulations.
• Follow policies and procedures as outlined in Employee and Job manuals.
• Create positive and inviting environment for children.
• Assist with the development and measurement of individualized goals for children.
• Greet parents and ask appropriate questions/give appropriate information.
• Include themselves in children's play time both indoors and outdoors.
• Follow schedule for classroom so that activities are timely and organized.
• Complete the Opening Procedures, Naptime Procedures and Closing Procedures on a daily basis so that classrooms and common areas remain clean and organized.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must be 18-years of age with a High School Degree or GED, and 6-months experience working as a supervised Assistant Teacher in a Daycare or School setting. Position requires full mobility with the ability to lift between 20 and 40 pounds on a regular basis (Toddlers weight). Requires knowledge of the basic child needs and sensitivity to the capabilities, interest and problems associated with children and their daycare needs.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $13.25 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Cape Girardeau, MO 63703: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
• Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
