Job Summary

The Mesa team is looking for a strong Dispatcher to join us! The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating all daily events that have to do with dispatching local crews for packing and loading all shipments that the agency is origin agent on. Answering the phone and handling any situations in operations that may come up during the day.

Responsibilities

• Monitor local daily jobs to ensure that jobs are taken care of for the next day. Prepare local and UVL long haul paperwork for daily work to be done. Fulfilling driver requests for help. Complete all duties of the dispatch board. Call shippers to confirm arrival of crew.
• Verify with Credit and Collections that credit has been obtained before the move or arrive at payment arrangements with the customer.
• Record cash receipts and records turned in by local crews.
• Order supplies and uniforms for drivers and crew as needed.
• Daily computing of shop work tickets.
• Record and update equipment inspection and mileage.
• Verify and proof driver’s settlements, notifying Revenue Accounting of needed adjustments.
• Complete all needed paperwork on new hires and input to the HR/Payroll system
• Compute and input all hours to be paid in the payroll system.
• Maintain updated list of drivers, equipment and contact numbers.

Requirements & Skills

• Proven experience as a dispatcher or relevant position
• Tech-savvy with knowledge of relevant methods (CAD)
• Fast typing with experience in data entry
• Knowledge of procedures and guidelines for emergency situations
• Proficient in English (oral and written)
• Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
• Active listener with excellent communication skills
• Sound judgment and critical thinking
• High school diploma
• Valid Drivers License

Physical Demands

• Primarily seated in an office location
• Some standing, stooping
• Full use of hands, arms, hearing, vision, and voice
