Base Salary:

$58,580.00

Performance Pay:

Available annually

New hire experience:

1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a five-year maximum

New hire education:

1% of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or higher degree if not required for the position

OVERVIEW

To supervise the daily operation of the property management staff; to organize and direct activities involved in maintaining, controlling and auditing the district’s fixed assets inventory.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or experience in accounting, business, or materials management preferred
  • Minimum two years accounting experience in a supervisory capacity
  • High proficiency of computer applications including database and spreadsheet
  • Possess an understanding of fund accounting; working knowledge of budgeting, high math aptitude
  • Ability to independently make sound fact-based decisions for daily tasks and high-level decisions while providing strong leadership with effective communication and supervisory skills
  • Ability to assume responsibility, organize, prioritize, take initiative to direct own workload and workload of property management staff
  • Knowledge of Fixed Assets accounting practices, knowledge of Arizona school finance, knowledge of Infinite Visions, TipWeb, and Windows applications preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with district personnel and outside agencies; maintain confidentiality

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the property management department including prioritizing and assigning workloads
  • Research and reconcile fixed assets records with accounts payable; work cooperatively with financial services for correct account coding
  • Balance capital asset expenditures to property management records
  • Maintain the integrity of the financial system; take corrective action to ensure the soundness of data
  • Compile data for Construction in Progress projects, including tracking project costs and assign appropriate useful life once the projects have been completed
  • Assign GASB functions and useful life to all depreciable assets; run depreciation for appropriate assets
  • Oversee annual reconciliation of assets
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries and provide information and statistical data
  • Oversee the operation of used surplus facility and the disposal of district assets
  • Work with various district sites to ensure general fixed asset data is complete and properly counted
  • Evaluate, select and implement new hardware and software
  • Hire, train, evaluate and supervise property management staff
  • Develop, document and institute accounting and departmental procedures
  • Maintain department website
