The Float Pool Registered Nurse uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate highest quality nursing care. As a patient advocate, he/she coordinates the care of the patient through collaboration and appropriate delegation. The Nurse provides age-specific care and teaching to selected patient population(s). He/she monitors and recognizes changes in physiologic status, takes appropriate action based on assessment, and evaluates and documents finding and patient response. Interacts frequently with all patient service departments; utilizes interdisciplinary input to plan, implement and evaluate care. Cross training will be provided by Mesa View Regional Hospital. The Float RN will receive at least 2 shifts of clinical orientation in each unit and successfully complete unit related competencies. All other duties as assigned within the scope of Nursing practices. To be hired into the Nursing Float Pool, the RN must be trained to work at least 2 of the following areas: ICU, Medical Surgical, Emergency Department, PACU. Other clnical areas may be avaialble as appropriate. The Float Nurse may sign up for available shifts in the units they float to or be assigned by house supervisor upon arrival to work. All MVRH policies apply to the Float Nurse.
Minimum Associates Degree, BSN preferred.
A minimum of (1) year of recent hospital Nursing experience.
Current RN licensure in the state of Nevada. BLS is required at hire. ACLS, PALS required within 90 days of hire.
