MESQUITE EMP HEALTH CENTER is Hiring a Certified Medical Assistant - Employee Health Clinic Near Mesquite, TX

(Only applicants who have completed a Certified Medical Assistant Program will be considered.)

The Mesquite Independent School District and City of Mesquite are seeking qualified candidates for the position of full-time Certified Medical Assistant in the joint city/school employee health clinic. The appointee will actually be an employee of the school district and will report directly to the physician and/or health clinic director. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for the basic care of patients under the direction of the physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner. The Medical Assistant will work closely with the physician, clinic manager and staff, school and city administrators, employees who are members of the respective health plans, and eligible dependents.

Qualifications: The Certified Medical Assistant must have completed an approved MA course of study and possess a valid certification.

Preference will be given to applicants who:

  • have a minimum of six months experience in the health care industry with a knowledge of basic medical terminology and procedures
  • exhibit an understanding of safety principles and infection control in the patient care environment
  • exhibit the ability to perform basic patient care duties in a competent manner within the scope of clinically approved skills according to the needs/age of the patient/population served
  • demonstrate the ability to take vital signs and maintain related records
  • possess a thorough understanding of the technical content of the position as well as the ability to apply these skills to health-related issues
  • demonstrate effective communication, public relation, and interpersonal skills
  • bilingual preferred 

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration/committee may find appropriate and acceptable.

Salary/Benefits: Pay Range: $17.00 - $23.96 per hour

260-day position (two-week vacation)

School district benefits - including TRS (Teacher Retirement System)

Daytime hours - Monday through Friday (no nights or weekends)

Employment begins: September 3, 2024 or As soon as possible
