Mesquite Independent School District is Hiring a Transportation Safety Specialist Near Mesquite, TX
Qualifications
- Accredited High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. equivalency) required.
- Minimum three (3) years of Safety and security background experience preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of auto/truck maintenance and repair experience preferred.
- Possess and maintain proper bus driving certification or obtain within 6 months of employment.
- Possess a current Texas Class “A” or “B” Commercial Driver’s License, with “P” and “S” endorsements, or obtain within 6 months of employment.
- Acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass alcohol and drug tests.
- Ability to operate a school bus and drive as needed.
- Ability to work shifts as needed.
- Ability to use time wisely to ensure proficient and effective operations.
- Must be able to drive a vehicle with airbrakes.
- Knowledge of school bus/automotive mechanical components
- Ability to Learn or have a current working knowledge of the Fleet Watch software / Fuel Monitoring System and RTA Program.
- Ability to diagnose minor mechanical problems.
- Ability to operate tools and equipment involved in vehicle repair.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and vehicle parts.
- Acceptable communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
