Desktop Support Specialist

The Desktop Support Specialist will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving technical issues with hardware or software systems. Under direct supervision, provide accurate and timely solutions to ensure end-user productivity. The DSS will learn the company’s computer, phone, and other technical systems, as well as develop a thorough understanding of the company’s compliance regulations. This is an entry-level, in-office position with growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain organizational systems, desktops, and peripherals, and perform restorative and maintenance actions for on-site and remote users
• Prepare and maintain new hardware and software for users
• Move and reconfigure equipment
• Document processes and procedures to corporate standards
• Open service tickets and escalate problems to service providers in a timely manner after standard diagnostic procedures have failed and follow up until satisfactory resolution is achieved
• Ship, receive, and maintain inventory of remote user desktops and peripherals
• Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with users and management
• Other duties, as assigned by manager

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 1 or more years of basic technical support experience in professional environment, with understanding of or hands-on experience with Microsoft Office 365, Azure Active
• Directory, VOIP administration, and print script operation
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively under time constraints
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Time management skills and the ability to adjust priorities as needed
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Able to work with diverse personalities and different levels of technical skill
• Lifetime learner with an eager and open mind, an ever-expanding skillset, and a desire to share knowledge with others
• Understanding or hands-on experience with multiple operating system types

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift/carry 40 lbs.

Compensation and Benefits

Financial – Hourly pay, overtime eligible, with an annual target salary of $48,000 – $52,000, based on skill and experience, and a profit-sharing target of 10 % of total compensation. Profit sharing is based upon the company’s financial performance and individual contribution to company success.

Other – This position is a full-time, hourly position with overtime required as needed. Business hours are Monday – Thursday 8:00 AM – 5:00P M and Friday 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM. Our office is professional, comfortable, and pet friendly!
