Scope of Position:

Working under the direction of the Engineering Manager, responsible for the sheet metal design and fabrication drawings / bill of materials to produce the various Dallas product lines. This includes shop support when necessary and providing support for new product development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• To do layouts for units / accessory assuring the component placement and fit within the given perimeters.
• To design the sheet metal parts required to produce any unit or unit accessory within our normal manufacturing limits. This includes DFX files, flat pattern drawings, and entry into the ERP system.
• Bill of material creation for the units / unit accessories.
• Keeping abreast of any technological advances for the software utilized by Mestex.
• Provide NPD documentation support for the Design Engineers.
• Evaluate current designs to offer part or process improvements with regards to increasing throughput or decreasing cost.
• Must meet or exceed the engineering department work schedule timelines (both production and project work).
• Cooperate with, and provide support to, the other departments to achieve the operational goals.
• Conforms to all Quality and Environmental Management System policies, objectives and obligations.
• Perform any other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• 2-5 years of sheet metal design and layout experience with CAD design tools or have a CAD Technical School degree.
• High level of detailed orientated work and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• HVAC product design experience is a plus
